Chelsea ace Charly Musonda set to stay at Stamford Bridge as Roma pull out of running, confirms Luci

Musonda, 20, has been heavily linked with a move to the Italian capital after returning to Stamford Bridge following a disappointing loan spell with Real Betis.

Antonio Conte suggested last week that he would decide on Musonda’s future based on his performances in training and he’s been competing with the Italian’s first-team squad in recent days at their Cobham complex.

However, it would now appear that Musonda is staying in west London after Spaletti ruled out a move for the Belgian this month because he’s considered too inexperienced for the club.

‘We do not seek an apprentice,’ Spaletti told Sky Italia.

‘It takes a player who is in our game and in the mentality of our team.

‘I think he will become very strong but at the moment he does not play.

‘Conte talks about Musonda in a stratospheric manner but if you take a kid who has not played at the Olympico, you’re asking for trouble.’
