This Guy Was Once A Nerd, Now He’s Living With Two Hot Girlfriends In The Same Roof

With the popularity of unusual love relationship-themed TV shows and movies, it’s no wonder why some people prefer to be in an unconventional rather than a traditional one. In fact, one such relationship can be made into a  reality TV show because it involves a former nerd, two girlfriends, a stepson, and a baby who all live under the same roof. Yes, you read it right!

For Adam Lyons, an ex-nerd turned playboy turned dating coach, one woman is not enough.

He has two girlfriends — his bisexual babymama (Brooke Shedd, right) and another bisexual woman (Jane Shalakhova, left) — who agreed to live with him with two kids. One is his child with Brooke (Danté) and the other is Brooke’s son (Oliver) from a previous relationship.

Adam says that they are just like any ordinary family except, “One dad and two mums live under the same roof.”

The ‘throuple’ (from the words “three” and couple”) shares a super-sized kingsize bed. This strange arrangement seems to work perfectly for them especially now that Adam and Brooke’s baby Oliver was born in February. Brooke says, “With two partners, I’ll never have to leave my kids with someone I don’t trust. Danté and Oliver will grow up seeing Adam, Jane and I being affectionate and caring for each other.”

Adam’s family is very supportive of his unconventional live-in relationship. They know his full story and are really happy for him.

He says: “My parents love their grandson and come to visit us all. Some of my family members and friends did think my set-up was a bit weird at first, but they can see how happy we all are.”

But Adam wasn’t always a ladies’ man. Originally from the UK, he was once voted the least likely to ever get a girlfriend at school.

“I believed no girl would ever want me so I withdrew into myself.” says Adam.

But at 25 when he worked as a caterer, he decided to make a lifestyle change.

“I read about pick-up artists, a community of men who use psychological techniques to try to seduce women. I practiced by standing in London’s Leicester Square, trying to get girls’ phone numbers as they walked past.Soon, I was sleeping with amazing women I could only have dreamed of at school.”

He then decided to become a dating coach…

“After being a loner all my life, I was suddenly leading this Hugh Hefner lifestyle,” he explains. “I could sleep with any beautiful woman I wanted. At one point, I was dating 14 girls at the same time!”

But Adam got tired of playing the field and wanted a committed relationship.

He says: “Dating so many women became very stressful and boring – I wanted to fall in love and settle down.”

Adam then met Alexandra, his future ex-wife, in 2007. They married a year later and moved to Texas. “We had a very traditional, monogamous marriage and were like any other normal, happy couple,” he says. After three years, Alex wanted kids but Alexandra didn’t. “It started causing problems. But we still loved each other, and didn’t want to get a divorce.”

To save the marriage, the couple decided to try ‘polyamory’ and were free to have other sexual partners.

“After many discussions, we figured that we might have a better chance of staying together,” says Adam. “Alexandra started sleeping with a few different guys and I dated a woman I met in a bar. It brought the two of us closer together. We’d sit on the sofa and talk about the fantastic s*x we were having with other people.”

But things got more complicated when Alexandra suggested Adam sleep with Brooke who was one of their mutual friends.

“Alexandra thought we’d make a great match,” explains Adam. “We had a lot in common, and from the moment we met there was instant chemistry, and our friendship grew into something deeper.”

Pretty soon Adam fell out of love with Alexandra and decided to end the marriage. Alexandra still didn’t want to have kids and began to date someone else. Adam says, “We had a long talk and in late 2012, we amicably separated, then I moved in with Brooke and her son, Oliver.”

Though they were finally together, both Adam and Brooke didn’t want to be in a completely monogamous relationship.

“I didn’t want to limit myself to being with just one person ever again,” says Adam. “I loved the polyamorous lifestyle because it’s okay to date someone else if one partner can’t provide what you need at that time.”

So the two went out regularly to pick up women and they looked for someone who can join them permanently.

In April 2013, they met Jane at a nightclub. Adam says, “I knew Jane was unique from the moment we met her. The three of us just clicked.”

Brooke recalls, “She was fun and intelligent. I wanted to see whether this could be something.” Jane says, “I’d never experimented with polyamorous relationships but with Adam and Brooke, it felt so natural. Like meeting your soul mate, then multiplying that by two.”

At first, the throuple was in a long-distance relationship since Jane was based in LA.

Eventually as the relationship became more serious, Adam and Brooke introduced Oliver to Jane. “Jane is like a cool aunt to him,” says Brooke. In 2014, Adam, Brooke, and Oliver moved to LA and purchased a house to live in with Jane.

Last February this year, Danté was born and the couple are raising him with Jane.

“What’s the difference between explaining to your kid that they have a mum and a dad, or that they have three parents who love him?” says Brooke. Jane is planning to have kids herself so more babies are coming in the future. “Caring for Danté has been good practice,” she says.

Though their arrangement may be frowned upon by some, the threesome insists that their relationship is normal. We’re just like any typical family,” says Adam. “In the morning, Brooke will cook breakfast, then we’ll all eat together before Jane and I head off to work.” Brooke who stays at home adds, ” In the evenings, Jane and I play video games and hang out with Oliver and Danté while Adam cooks dinner.”

Jane says, “We have a kingsize bed because a normal double bed isn’t big enough. We all have separate blankets but it can get insanely warm and sweaty sleeping in one bed together!”

Time management is essential to their relationship says the three. “We ensure everyone gets time together, so every pair has a set date night,” explains Brooke. “For example, Jane and Adam will go to an art gallery together on Tuesday, then Jane and I will have a romantic evening on Thursday. We like to cuddle up and watch a movie. We’re a lot more sensual.”

Not content with having a full house at the moment, the three are open to adding a fourth permanent partner to their growing family. We are committed to each other,” says Brooke, “but we’d be open to adding another person if we met another girl we liked and who fitted into our lifestyle.

“It’s not something we’re concerned about at the moment, because you can’t instantly introduce someone to your life – there’s three of us who have to agree to another partner, after all.”
